We stepped out of my dad’s car as we pulled into the Short Stay car park at Gatwick airport. I was wearing a strappy summer dress and some gladiator sandals, as per usual. I practically lived in dresses, they were my wardrobe staple. Hayley was stood wearing a cute flowery skirt, a white vest top and some TOMs. We hauled our suitcases out of the boot and began to make our way over to the Terminal. Dad stopped me before we walked off and said “Come here, give your dad a hug!” as I hugged him he said “Make sure you and Hayley have a good time, okay? Don’t do anything too stupid, and ring us when you get there, to let us know you’re okay?” I smiled “Of course I will! Go on, you better get off otherwise you’ll be late for work!” I gave him one last hug before he got back into his car and drove away. I turned to look directly at Hayley, and said “Right Hayles, keep calm. Everything’s going to be amazing! This is going to be the best trip ever!” I pulled a piece of paper from my bag, all the details about today printed on it. I studied it, searching for where it said we had to meet the boys. “It says we have to meet the boys at the Thomson VIP desk, so that we can all check in together.” Hayley gave me a weak smile, the nerves visible in her face. “C’mon Hayles! Lets do this poo!” I hugged her tightly, before we began to walk over to the Terminal entrance.
We walked through the main door, to see hundreds of people bustling around the terminal. We walked over to the map to look at where we needed to be. “There! So we just have to walk that way a bit, then it’s just round the corner, i think.” Hayley said. “Well come on then! What are we waiting for! You don’t meet One Direction every day!” I beamed.
As we walked over to the VIP desk, we saw five very familiar figures stood at the desk. Nerves suddenly filled my entire body as a thought crossed my mind, they were waiting for us. I looked across at Hayley, and she looked as if she was going to pass out. I stopped walking, grabbed hold of both her hands, and looked her directly in the eye. “Babe, don’t be nervous! We’ve waited so long for this day, so let’s just go and make the most of this, eh?” She smiled and nodded at me, before wrapping her arms around my neck, mumbling into my shoulder “I’m just so nervous! I never thought i’d meet them, let alone go on holiday with them!” I laughed “I know hun! Me neither!” We gathered our luggage once again and continued to walk over to the boys.
As we approached the boys, I was shaking. I was so nervous. We had been told to speak to their security guard first, so that they could get everything sorted and make sure we were the right people. I approached the security guard, and he looked down at me sternly. “May I help you?” This really wasn’t helping. He was just making me more nervous. “Um, Hi. We’re the competition winners?”
“Alright then, can I see the confirmation email please?”
I pulled out the same piece of paper from my bag and handed it to him, my hands shaking. The Security guard read the sheet of paper carefully, before looking up at us and smiling. “All seems good to me! I’ll just take you over to the boys, follow me.” I breathed a sigh of relief, everything was legit. Nothing was a con, and we really were going on holiday with One Direction. The security guard walked us over to the boys, and i looked over at Hayley, and smiled. “Boys, here are your competition winners! Now just get yourselves checked in and get on that plane.” Shouted the Security guard. The boys turned around to look at us. I grabbed Hayley’s hand and gave it a quick squeeze just for reassurance. They all smiled at us and Louis said “Hello lovely ladies! Who do we have here then?” I smiled, and said “I’m Amaia and this is Hayley!”
“very nice to meet you Hayley and Amaia!” Liam said cheerfully. The boys all joined in, before giving us both hugs. “Right then! Lets get on this plane!” said Harry. Me and Hayley just looked at each other, trying to hold in our fangirling, and just hugged each other. I could not wait for this holiday.
