Conclusion

One Direction did not win The X-Factor in 2010. Matt Cardle won, Rebecca Ferguson was runner-up and One Direction won third place. However, their mentor, Simon Cowell, wasn’t about to give up.

Uncle Simon, as Directioners call him, knew that the boys were too talented to give up on, so he helped them sign a £2 million record contract with Syco Records. This was the first step to One Direction’s world-wide fame.
